This waterfront home is carefully constructed, buttressed against the cliffsides above the beach. Because this landscape is comprised of tight, heavily terraced areas down the cliffside onto the high tide line, this project was a fun exercise in perspective. The layered garden spaces are difficult to access, and much of the landscape is visible both from above and from below. With the clients wanting a lush tropical feel to soften the sleek modern building, we collaborated on imagery from our respective travels in tropical areas and I adapted these ideas to suit the harsh conditions that beach building and landscapes endure.
